Finding and applying for scholarships can take significant time and effort. That’s why it can be so disheartening for your student when they learn they weren’t selected.
Technical issues with the application itself– Not meeting requirements, missing application pieces, not proofreading the material, not answering the essay prompt
Request feedback from the committee– Some, not all, scholarships will provide feedback on the application– Every rejection letter can be the opportunity to learn and grow.
Revisit your application materials– Take a moment to proofread your application– Do you feel like you are lacking in an area? If so, what can you do to improve it?
Reassess your search strategy– What kind of scholarships are you applying to?– Ask yourself - are you finding scholarships where you are the best fit for those scholarships?
