Sometimes, to get different results, we have to take different approaches to things.
This is where the #RebelFamily mentality comes in.
After working with families for over half a decade in securing debt-free degrees, I realized one common thing: The families pulling it off were different. They were willing to try all different types of strategies, asked unique questions, and make challenging decisions. Whatever it took to avoid student loan debt.
For some people, avoiding student loan debt isn't the priority - and that's fine.
But for those who know they absolutely are willing to do whatever they can in order to allow their child to graduate debt-free from college, those are the families we teach to become a #RebelFamily.
Discovering the #Rebel in Myself
On my path to pursue a debt-free degree, I knew I didn't want to take on any student loans. In fact, I even considered not going to college if the alternative meant decades of debt. As a soon-to-be college student, I was willing to make sacrifices and challenge the status quo if it meant I could leave college debt-free. Little did I know, this was the #Rebel inside of me. When others simply said, "Everyone borrows student loans," I said that I would be different. I wanted to be an exception. And so I focused on applying for scholarships, year after year, bargain-hunting, working side jobs - whatever it took to avoid the dreaded student loan in my "aid" package.
Because of having scholarships to pay for nearly everything, and finding ways to reduce my expenses in college, I was able to save most of what I made with part-time jobs in college and graduate debt-free. Within 2 months of graduating college, I bought my first property. Within 6 months, I paid off my car. Also, because of graduating debt-free, I was able to save money, versus living paycheck to paycheck.
Now I don't share my experience to brag.
I share it to inspire.
By taking a #rebel approach to paying for college, I avoided decades of student loan debt that so many others, including many of my own friends and colleagues, are saddled with.
My goal in life is to share my strategies with as many families as possible so that they, too, can get their college experience paid for with as little student loan debt as possible.
What is a #RebelFamily?
Today, we teach families how to become a #RebelFamily.
By combining unique strategies in many different areas of paying for college, families slowly build towards a debt-free degree.
No rock is left unturned.
Every opportunity is considered.
And together, we choose the right puzzle pieces for each family to form their own version of a debt-free degree.
It requires a certain mentality. A certain level of grit. A certain willingness to go against the grain and say "no" to status quo. This is for the parents who are also passionate about their children avoiding the student loan debt crisis while still pursuing their dreams.
Now this #RebelFamily mentality isn't for everyone. I know that.
Sometimes I meet families that already conceded to borrowing student loans. They want their student to at least tRY to get some debt-free money .. but the fire isn't there. I can identify these families right away.
But, fortunately, we've met thousands of families who do have the fire.
Who are open to new ideas.
Who ultimately will succeed in perhaps not a debt-free degree but at the very least, in greatly reducing the amount of loans they will need to pay for college.
If this sounds like your family...
If you are passionate about your student avoiding the trap of student loan debt..
If you're open to unique strategies that may be a little rebellious...
Then I want to invite you to our #RebelFamily Community.
Join our free facebook group, attend our free trainings, perhaps even become a member of our Debt-free Degree Lab community...
Either way - if the fire is there, we have the strategies.
So I hope to see you soon.
